Lil Wayne announces new tour with Bay Area stop

(KRON) – An artist who shifted the genres of rap and hip hop is coming to the Bay Area for a highly anticipated show. Lil Wayne and all his double entendres have announced his new tour, “Tha Carter VI,” with a South Bay show.

The Grammy Award-winning rapper will also release his newest album, “Tha Carter VI,” on Friday, June 6. 

The 34-city tour is set to commence at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on the same day as the album release. Wayne is scheduled to perform at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View on Sept. 5.

  • Golden 1 Center in Sacramento on Saturday, Sept. 6
  • North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista on Wednesday, Sept. 10
  • Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Friday, Sept. 12

In his career, Lil Wayne has received 11 BET Awards, four Billboard Music Awards, two MTV VMAs, and eight NAACP Image Awards. The New Orleans native has five Grammys. His 2008 smash “Lollipop” earned him his first Diamond certification from the RIAA. 

Rapper Tyga and Belly Gang Kushington are set to join the tour on select dates.
