But Timothy Stonerock, 67, of New Castle allegedly didn’t take the hint.
“Want to go for a ride little girl grrrrr,” he reportedly texted the juvenile. “I can’t wait until you turn 18, we are going to date.”
“Stop being weird, Tim. Please.”
On May 29, the Henry County Circuit Court charged Stonerock with performance before a minor that is harmful to minors, a Level 6 felony; intimidation, Level 6 felony; and battery on a person less than 14, a Level 6 felony.
A warrant was issued for his arrest the following day.
According to court documents, the New Castle Police Department was first informed about Stonerock’s inappropriate behavior toward his underage neighbor in early February. The victim’s mother showed police text messages between Stonerock and her daughter.
Investigators soon learned the allegations of Stonerock stretched beyond just text messages.
In a video shown to police, Stonerock is seen driving the victim and her friend in his vehicle. He can be heard telling the two girls (both under the age of 14) that he wants to drive them out into the country and rape them. The juveniles alleged that Stonerock was also drunk at the time of the incident.
Police spoke to the victim who also accused Stonerock of frequently slapping her on the butt. She told investigators Stonerock would often comment about her body, asking her to bend over and pick things up, and even tried to grab her chest.
The victim told police she’d “thought nothing of it” at the time and wrote it off as Stonerock just “playing.”
According to the Henry County Prosecutor’s Office, Stonerock’s warrant has been served and he was taken into custody. In Indiana, a Level 6 felony carries a maximum sentence of two and a half years.
