Organizers respond to 2025 Roots Picnic disappointment

WEST FAIRMOUNT PARK – Major delays, long lines, muddy grounds, and missed performances – some attendees even called it “Philadelphia’s Fyre Festival.”

This is how the 2025 Roots Picnic kicked off, leaving many disappointed.

Attendees told PHL17 that they waited in lines for as long as 4 hours, with no access to bathrooms.

After Day 1’s disastrous reception, organizers of the music festival posted their apologies on social media, explaining the rain leading up to the event made them feel the grounds were unsafe and caused delays.

They also added that for Day 2, the entry process was improved and communication was increased with Roots Picnic Ambassadors posted at the front gates.
