The SLCPD Pioneer Bike Squad began this investigation at around 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, after they received information about possible drug activity. With that information, officers found the suspect and witnessed a drug transaction, according to police.
The suspected buyer in the deal was stopped with the help of the Cottonwood Heights Police Department’s K-9 team, and officers found about 2.2 pounds of methamphetamine in the suspect’s vehicle.
A nearby hotel was identified as being connected to the suspect over the course of the investigation, and SLCPD’s Central Bike Squad, Special Investigations Unit, and Violent Criminal Apprehension Team came to assist the Pioneer Bike Squad.
After officers obtained a search warrant, they recovered an additional 4.3 pounds of methamphetamine and $6,258 in cash.
“This case is a great example of what our officers can achieve when they build strong partnerships and have strong interagency cooperation,” Chief Brian Redd of the SLCPD said in a press release.

Police said that the case is still under investigation, and they will not release the names of individuals involved in the case in order to protect the ongoing investigation.
