This was a part of Collins Aerospace’s collaboration with Lifescape for the annual Day of Caring event in the Rockford area.
One volunteer who has been with the manufacturer for nearly three decades said the homeowners often get emotional because of the support they are receiving.
“Many times at the end, they make you tear up because they’re so very grateful for what we’re doing,” said Volunteer Bruce Daub. “A lot of times, their family can’t help them. Many of these yards used to look really nice, and for other reasons, age or whatever, they can’t do it anymore. So, it’s very rewarding.”
Collins Aerospace provides all the tools needed for the event.
This is the 7th annual Day of Caring.
