Four arrested in connection to Opelousas homicide

OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) — Four arrests have been made by investigators with the Opelousas Police Department in connection with the shooting death of Justin Washington, which occurred on May 24, at 10:30 p.m.

Authorities have arrested Jasean Mansfield, 18, Sharona Glaude, 31, Latravien Glaude, 19 and Koby Glaude, 18, in connection with the shooting.

According to authorities, during the course of the investigation, detectives interviewed several individuals who were present at the scene of the incident.

Through further questioning and evidence analysis, officials determined that Mansfield was responsible for discharging the firearm that resulted in the death of Washington.

Officials said in an interview conducted with Mansfield, he confessed to his involvement in the incident. He was subsequently sent to a St. Landry Parish jail, on the charges of negligent homicide and obstruction of justice.

Officials said they also discovered that, following the shooting, multiple individuals inside the residence where the incident occurred attempted to clean up the crime scene before law enforcement arrived. Those individuals were identified as Sharona, Latravien and Koby.

Each individual was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice for their role in attempting to conceal the incident.

This case remains under investigation. There is currently no information regarding the bond of these individuals.
