BART recovering after fire breaks out near trackway between Daly City and Balboa Park

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — BART is recovering from an earlier problem after a fire broke out near the trackway between Daly City and Balboa Park stations Tuesday afternoon. There is still a major delay on the San Francisco Line in the SFO, Millbrae, Daly City and East Bay directions, according to Bay Area Rapid Transit.

Tuesday’s fire comes just one day after Green Line service was fully restored following an electrical fire on the tracks at San Leandro Station that shut down service systemwide last week.

It’s been a rocky month of May for BART service that began with another systemwide service outage due to problems with network devices earlier this month. While Tuesday’s incident doesn’t appear to have caused anywhere near that level of disruption, the agency is still advising of major delays.
