77-year-old Louisiana man dies in Mississippi crash

PIKE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A 77-year-old Louisiana man was killed during a crash in South Mississippi.

The crash occurred on Interstate 55 in Pike County around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27.

Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said a 2013 Buick Enclave was traveling north on the interstate when it left the road and collided with a tree. The driver, Willie Carter, of Kentwood, received fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
