INL invites teachers to explore the future of energy, become energy education leaders

IDAHO FALLS – The Idaho National Laboratory invites teachers to an event called “Energizing Minds: Exploring the Future of Energy at INL.”

It’s a dynamic professional development workshop designed exclusively for educators. At this free event, INL’s K-12 STEM Education team will showcase how they are changing the world’s energy future as the nation’s nuclear energy research laboratory.

Certified K-12 and community college teachers are encouraged to bring their curiosity and enthusiasm as they explore INL’s advanced energy research and innovative technologies. This workshop will introduce teachers to the groundbreaking work happening in east Idaho, provide a forum for collaboration among participants, and empower them to become leaders in energy education. Participants will discover practical strategies, hands-on activities, and valuable resources to enhance their teaching and spark student interest in pursuing education and career paths in STEM. They will explore topics that include nuclear energy, integrated energy systems, high-performance computing and artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and more.

The two-day event will include one day of interactive workshops and one day touring INL’s in-town and desert site campuses, all hosted by world-class researchers. It takes place on June 24 and 25. Registration is free but is limited to the first 60 qualified applicants. Participants can earn continuing education credit.
