By rssfeeds-admin CHICAGO — An 18-year-old man died after colliding with an SUV while riding his bicycle in the Loop early Monday morning, according to Chicago police.
Police say the 18-year-old was on his bicycle in the 100 block of North Michigan Avenue just before 5 a.m. when he rode into the path of and hit a GMC SUV, which was being driven by a 65-year-old man and was going south on N. Michigan Ave. through a green light.
The bicyclist was taken to an area hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead. According to police, the man driving the SUV was issued one citation.
No other injuries were reported, and Major Accidents is investigating.
