Unrestrained driver killed, two injured in late night single-vehicle crash

ARCADIA, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Louisiana State Police are investigating a late-night crash that left one man dead and two passengers injured.

Police say 32-year-old David Garner was traveling late on May 21, 2025, when his Honda veered off the highway and collided with a roadside drainage tunnel.

Garner, who was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the incident, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Two other passengers who were also without seatbelts were significantly injured and also transported to the hospital.

The crash is still under investigation, and troopers are looking into whether alcohol was a contributing factor.

Louisiana State Police wants to remind all drivers that while not all crashes are survivable, taking simple precautions like buckling up can mean the difference between life and death.
