BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Louisiana State Police is investigating after a single-vehicle crash in Iberville Parish killed one man.
According to police, around 3 p.m. Thursday, troopers were called to LA 77, near Jase Street, about a crash.
During the investigation, troopers learned that Sky Valenciano, 31, of Patterson, was headed south in a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer when the vehicle exited the roadway and struck a utility pole.
Valenciano was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
A standard toxicology sample was taken for analysis.
This is an ongoing investigation.
