According to an update provided by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) at around 5:32 a.m., Yellow Line service was temporarily suspended due to an obstruction at Dodge Avenue in Evanston.
It remains unclear exactly what caused the obstruction, but officials said normal service resumed by around 8:15 a.m.
While the trains have started running once again, the CTA warns that riders may still experience residual delays.
In order to accommodate the delays, the CTA said it will continue to operate shuttle buses providing connecting service from Dempster-Skokie to Howard in both directions.
