Kandanice Stevenson is charged with aggravated assault on police/fire/school official, felony taking of motor vehicle, malicious mischief, and disturbance of public peace.
On May 7, the Southaven Police Department says Kandanice Stevenson crashed a Southaven Paramedic unit into Baptist Desoto Hospital.
A spokesperson told WREG one employee received minor injuries, but no patients were injured, and emergency room operations were not affected by the crash.
Earlier that day, Southaven Police confirmed that Stevenson was also involved in a vehicle crash on Goodman Road.
Corey Merrill, the General Manager for Christian Brothers Automotive, told WREG he heard the crash at the intersection on Goodman Road.
“A car traveling probably 50 miles an hour drove out of the neighborhood and sideswiped a Dodge Durango, and then she turned the corner, ran over the curb, and continued down the street,” Merrill said.
The vehicle driven by Stevenson flipped into a ditch alongside Goodman Road. When paramedics arrived, Stevenson was taken to the hospital, where she was accused of crashing the ambulance into the building.
Kandanice Stevenson is currently being held in jail on a $500,000 bond. She is due in court on Wednesday at 9 a.m.
