Peak Memorial Day and summer travel anticipated at Jackson airport

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The 2025 summer travel season is underway at the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN). Airlines have reported a surge in demand for reservations during the Memorial Day holiday period and throughout the summer.

According to the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA), travelers can expect increased activity at the airport beginning Thursday, May 22.

Travelers are encouraged to check their flight status at iFlyJackson.com or with their respective airline. Passengers should arrive at least two hours before their flight departure to allow ample time for check-in and security procedures.

JAN on-airport parking details are as follows:

  • Economy Lot at $13 per day (convenient remote lot, with frequent nonstop shuttle
    buses)
  • Surface Lot at $17 per day (quick walk into the JAN terminal)
  • Garage at $19 per day (at the JAN terminal)
  • Cellphone Lot is free, as are the 1st 10 minutes in all lots; Hourly Parking is $5
    per hour
