A rather hot, but less humid Wednesday: We will catch a break from the humidity on Wednesday as temperatures will begin in the 50s and lower 60s. Despite the fact that Wednesday will begin with much cooler temperatures, the combination of sunshine and drier air will allow daytime high to return to the 80s and lower 90s.
Several days of sunshine: Futurecast shows the impact of the drier air. Expect a clear sky across the ArkLaTex on Tuesday night. We will then see plenty of sunshine on Wednesday. The quiet weather will continue for the rest of this week and through much of the Memorial Day weekend. Moisture will begin to return from the Gulf later this week, setting the stage for our next shot at some thunderstorms late in the Memorial Day weekend.
Long-range outlook: If you like the sunshine, enjoy the rest of this week because next week is looking rather stormy. The threat of scattered thunderstorms will begin on Sunday night and will continue through much of next week. Daytime highs will mainly be in the 90s this week and will cool to the 80s next week with the clouds and rain. Overnight lows will begin in the 60s and will gradually warm into the 70s.
