South Beloit man accused of bodyslamming woman multiple times

SOUTH BELOIT, Ill. (WTVO) — South Beloit Police arrested James Schwager Jr., 35, for allegedly bodyslamming and strangling a woman.

On May 19, around 3 p.m., officers were called to the 1400 block of Blackhawk Boulevard for reports of domestic battery. The victim told authorities that Schwager had left the scene in a Chevrolet Suburban.

The incident started over a phone call, according to court records. The victim told police that Schwager bodyslammed her multiple times and strangled her.

The woman had multiple visible injuries, officers reported.

Schwager was eventually taken into custody and booked into the Winnebago County Jail.

Schwager is charged with domestic battery causing bodily harm and aggravated battery causing strangulation.
