Small Bay Area town has CA’s most wishlisted Airbnb

(KRON) – The location of California’s most wishlisted Airbnb might surprise you. While it is in the Bay Area, it’s not in San Francisco or Napa.

Tucked away in the small town of Occidental in Sonoma County, the Spectacular Spyglass Treehouse hosts two guests. According to this listing, the Spyglass Treehouse is a “magnificent creation by Artistree [that] seamlessly blends artistry, sustainability, and a deep connection with the redwood forests.” 

Per Airbnb, the treehouse is a “guest favorite,” and guest says it is one of the most loved homes on the site. With a private hot tub and infrared sauna, this is easily believable. The hot tub overlooks the forest of towering trees on the patio. 

The treehouse has a 4.98 Airbnb score. Past stayers call the house “absolutely sensational” and “so cozy, modern, and private.” One former guest said the accommodations were “Ritz-Carlton level hospitality.”

If being around people really isn’t your thing, Occidental has a population of less than 1,000 people, according to the city’s website. Occidental is best known for being on the North Pacific Coast Railroad, which was established in 1876.
