Man found dead in Baton Rouge apartment, police investigate

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating the death of a 53-year-old man after his body was found inside an apartment.

Officers responded to a call around 3 p.m. Monday, May 19, about a deceased individual in the 800 block of North Donmoor Avenue. Upon arrival, they found Timothy Jarrell, 53, dead inside the home.

Police said an exam by the East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office revealed signs of trauma, leading authorities to suspect foul play. The victim was later identified as Jarrell through fingerprint analysis conducted by the Louisiana State Police.

BRPD said they have not yet identified any suspects or a motive. The investigation remains ongoing.
