ACADIA PARISH, La. (KLFY) — A narcotics search warrant has led to the seizure of over 200 pounds of marijuana in Acadia Parish.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Skyevonte Mayfield, 24 of Branch. Police say Mayfield is wanted for possession with the intent to distribute marijuana.

According to authorities, a joint investigation determined that several individuals from the Baton Rouge area were involved in transporting narcotics and selling them for distribution within Acadia Parish.

Officials secured a search warrant for a residence in the 6000 block of the Church Point Highway. The warrant was served on May 13 and led to the recovery of over 200 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $1.8 million.

The Greater Baton Rouge Narcotics Taskforce has since arrested 3 men from the Baton Rouge
area in this case. The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office has also secured arrest warrants for these individuals, who will be transferred an Acadia Parish jail for distribution of marijuana.
