A deputy was responding to a call about a stabbing victim when the crash took place around 7 p.m. on Coursey Boulevard. EBRSO said the deputy was driving on Coursey Boulevard when it crossed Airline Highway and hit a vehicle traveling northbound.
They said the deputy was not hurt, and the driver took a personal vehicle to the hospital to be examined.
EMS confirmed that they responded to the Goodwill on Coursey Boulevard at 6:36 p.m. and took one person to the hospital. An affidavit stated that the victim had life-threatening injuries due to a stabbing but is expected to survive.
EBRSO confirmed that one person was arrested in connection with the stabbing. Chad Harden, 42, was arrested and charged with aggravated second-degree battery.
The victim was stabbed in the forearm by Harden during an argument, according to the affidavit. Harden came back to the scene after fleeing and admitted to the stabbing “after he was hit by a chair,” EBRSO said.
