Officers say they were investigating a possible stolen vehicle in the 2900 block of North Rinaldi Street just before 6 p.m. Officers say they contacted 38-year-old John Rivas near Riggin Avenue and Rinaldi Street, who began to run away.
Officers were able to apprehend him and report finding multiple stolen credit cards belonging to theft victims, along with drug paraphernalia, ammunition, and a credit card reader containing $16,000 in fraudulent charges.
Rivas is facing several charges, including suspicion of possession of stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia, identity theft, felon in possession of ammunition, and fraudulent use of a credit card.
