LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – After starting out Sunday with high humidity, the big story will once again be the toasty afternoon temperatures as most of Acadiana reaches the 90 degree mark. A few clouds will pass through the sky but rain is not expected. Winds will be quite gusty at times, with frequent gusts to 20 miles per hour or higher.

Tonight, summer sticky air hangs around as temperatures drop into the 70s. Monday will basically be a repeat weather-wise of what we’ve been seeing for much of the last week. Highs reach around 90 with a mixture of sun and clouds.

We continue the summer weather pattern through Tuesday before a weak cold front arrives Wednesday. This will bring our best rain chances mainly for a few pop-up storms through lunchtime Wednesday. Behind this front, a slight cooldown will bring more comfortable mornings to Acadiana with afternoons still seeing toasty temperatures in the mid and upper 80s.
