Richmond police arrest woman after brief foot pursuit

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Richmond Police Department arrested a woman after a brief foot pursuit on Thursday.

According to an RPD Facebook post, Jasmin Cash fled from police on foot around 3 a.m. She was wanted for failure to appear in court.

The charges Cash failed to appear in court to face are:

• Kidnapping while armed with a deadly weapon — Level 3 Felony
• Criminal confinement — Level 3 Felony
• Kidnapping resulting in bodily injury — Level 5 Felony
• Battery by means of a deadly weapon — Level 5 Felony

The kidnapping charges brought against Cash are related to an incident that occurred in the 200 block of South 7th Street in Richmond on April 11.

“When someone’s facing serious charges, showing up to court isn’t optional — it’s the law,” RPD Chief Kyle Weatherly wrote in a prepared statement. “If you choose to run from that responsibility, you can count on us to bring you back. Accountability doesn’t stop at the arrest—it follows through to the courtroom.”
