SHENANDOAH – One of the founders and visionaries of Downtown Shenandoah, Inc. will be the grand marshal for this year’s Heritage Day Parade of Nations in downtown Shenandoah.
Attorney Eric Mika, a Shenandoah native, was announced Thursday as grand marshal.
Mika is a founder and past president of DSI, which organizes the annual event.
A member of the Williamson Friedberg & Jones Law Firm, he is the only certified elder care lawyer in Schuylkill County.
He has been an advocate for Shenandoah for decades
“[The people of Shenandoah] can be tough, feisty, certainly fiercely opinionated and quick to shoot from the hip, but if you show them you genuinely care, they are very proud, loyal, and God-fearing individuals who’ll give you the shirt off their back when their community is in need. It is just Shenandoah’s culture,” Mika said in a statement read by current DSI President Karen Kenderdine at last year’s groundbreaking for the Center for Education, Business, and the Arts.
The parade kicks off at 10am in downtown Shenandoah.
The post Mika named grand marshal for Parade of Nations first appeared on The Shenandoah Sentinel.
