On May 4, around 8 p.m., authorities were called to the 1200 block of 12th Avenue for shots fired in the area, according to a ShotSpotter notification. Multiple witnesses told officers they heard about 6 rapid-fire gunshots in the area.
Officials found shell casings west of the intersection, court records show.
The victim told police that Reyna pulled up in a blue Chevy Traverse and pulled a gun on him while he was in his SUV. When the victim drove away, Reyna started shooting at the man’s SUV, according to court documents.
The victim’s SUV had multiple bullet holes due to the shooting, authorities reported.
Later that night, officers were called to a hit-and-run involving a blue Chevy Traverse. The victims told authorities that Reyna gave them his ID and ran away.
Police searched the SUV and found multiple shell casings matching the one found at the scene of the shooting.
Officers eventually took Reyna into custody, and he was booked into the Winnebago County Jail on May 15th.
He is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm at an occupied vehicle and aggravated unlawful possession of a loaded weapon inside a vehicle without a FOID.
