Rival gang graffiti led to Concord double stabbing: police

(KRON) — Two Fairfield brothers were arrested on Thursday morning in connection with an incident where two people were stabbed, said the Concord Police Department.

Investigators said they determined that the stabbings stemmed from a dispute between rival gang members over graffiti tagging.

Concord PD said its officers responded to the incident around 3 p.m. on May 6 in the area of Willow Pass Road near Market Street. The victims were taken to nearby hospitals in stable condition.

Police said the suspects — now identified as Cristian Cobos, 25, and Ramon Cobos, 22 — fled the scene before officers arrived. Concord police said officers assigned to its Violence Suppression Unit took both brothers into custody and conducted a search warrant.

CPD said attempted murder charges were filed against the Cobos brothers on Wednesday by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.
