Body found in Jones County identified, authorities searching for suspect in hit-and-run

JONES COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A body was found on the road in Jones County Tuesday night has been identified, and police are now searching for the driver of a vehicle that hit her then fled the scene.

Jamie Salazar, 40, of Hamlin was found dead on Highway 277 near FM 3326 around 10:45 p.m., according to the Jones County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office says Salazar was the victim of a hit-and-run, and they are now looking for the suspect.
