The lawsuit, Lopez v. Apple Inc., alleged that Siri sometimes recorded users without their consent, even when not intentionally activated. Some of these recordings were reportedly shared with third-party contractors. While Apple denies any wrongdoing, the company agreed to the settlement to avoid further litigation.
Who’s Eligible?
Anyone in the U.S. who owned or purchased a Siri-enabled device such as an iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, MacBook, iMac, HomePod, iPod touch, or Apple TV between September 17, 2014, and December 31, 2024, and experienced unintended Siri activations during private conversations.

Eligible individuals can receive up to $20 per device, for a maximum of five devices, totaling up to $100.
How to File a Claim
- Visit the official settlement website: www.lopezvoiceassistantsettlement.com
- If you received a notice with a Claim ID and Confirmation Code, enter them.
- If you didn’t receive a notice, you can still file a claim by providing your Apple ID email and the serial numbers or model names of your devices.
No receipts are required, but you must attest that Siri was unintentionally activated during a private conversation.
Deadline
Claims must be submitted by July 2, 2025. A final approval hearing is scheduled for August 1, 2025.
