JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Jackson Hinds Library System (JHLS) Board of Trustees announced Jeanne Williams as its new executive director, effective June 16, 2025.
Williams grew up in Lumberton and attended the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) in Hattiesburg, earning a Master of Library and Information Science and a Master of Arts in Anthropology.
“I’m honored to join the Jackson Hinds Library System at the start of a new chapter. With a clear vision for the future and a new strategic plan, this is a time of renewed purpose and possibility. I look forward to working alongside our dedicated staff and Board to bring that vision to life for all the communities we serve. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to serve with JHLS,” said Williams.
As Executive Director, Williams will work with city and county leaders and community stakeholders to advance the library system’s mission and guide the implementation of the JHLS 2025–2030 Strategic Plan. The plan includes:
