HAMMOND, La. (WGNO) — One man is dead and two people, including a 2-year-old, are wounded after a shooting in Hammond on Monday, May 12, according to the Hammond Police Department.
The HPD reported that officers responded to a call of a shooting in a parking lot at 1001 North Morrison Blvd. around 2:48 a.m., where they found a 23-year-old, a 22-year-old and a 2-year-old child.
They were taken to a hospital, where the 23-year-old, identified by police as Bradley Blunt, later died. The 22-year-old’s and the 2-year-old’s injuries are non-life-threatening at this time, police said.
HPD officers said 23-year-old Janvourian Franklin was identified as a suspect and taken into custody. He faces a charge of first-degree murder, three counts of attempted first-degree murder and illegal discharge of a firearm.
Hammond police also stated that 20-year-old Demetriane Anderson, who has reportedly been identified as Franklin’s sister, was arrested in connection with the case after additional investigation. HPD officials said Anderson faces a charge of principal to first-degree murder and three counts of principal to attempted first-degree murder.
