Multiple units respond to fire on Hyde Park Place

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — The Shreveport Fire Department was called to a house fire at 3:14 p.m. on the 600 Block of Hyde Park Place and Yancey Place. They reported seeing smoke and flames visible from the front of the home.

Shreveport Fire Department EMS Officer Corrie Ross said they were called to a single-story residence. Approximately after 3:15 p.m., 18 Shreveport Fire Department units and 21 Shreveport Police Department units responded to extinguish the blaze.

At this time, the SFD report indicates no injuries to residents and first responders.

If you need a free smoke alarm, contact the Shreveport Fire Department. Crews will come to your home to install it for free.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
