Bonneville County Sheriff’s deputies and the Idaho Falls Fire responded to a two vehicle injury crash on Lewisville Highway (5th East) North of 97th North just before 3 p.m. Friday.
Emergency Personnel arrived to find a pickup and a smaller car had collided head-on, causing both to overturn. Both drivers had been ejected from the vehicles and there were no other occupants.
The driver of the pickup, a 21-year-old male, was transported by ambulance to the hospital with severe injuries. The driver of the car, a 61-year-old female, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Preliminary details from the scene indicate the pickup was southbound on Lewisville Highway and crossed the center line, colliding with the car traveling northbound. The Bonneville County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and the investigation is still ongoing.
