New Orleans Saints’ Derek Carr announces retirement

NEW ORLEANS (KLFY) — The New Orleans Saints reported that quarterback Derek Carr has announced his retirement.

The team said Carr sustained a labral tear and degenerative changes to his rotator cuff.

While surgery was an option, Carr and his family decided it was best for him to retire from the league.

Carr’s statement is below:

In 27 games with the Saints, Carr threw for 6023 yards and 40 touchdowns.
