Sheetz came in at number 278 on the list of 300 innovative companies by Fortune and Statista. It’s a list dominated by tech companies and the healthcare industry, with California having the most companies to make the list.
The company said in a release it’s honored as a leader in retail and convenience innovation to be recognized for its relentless drive to stay ahead of the curve in delivering new ideas and initiatives to its customers.
Sheetz opened office space in Pittsburgh in 2019 to focus on new lines of business and what convenience will look like in 10-plus years. In 2023, they doubled the size of the space to support rapid growth and new initiatives within the company.
Sheetz touts recent history and success with innovative tech, including being one of the first to launch voice ordering with Amazon Alexa and the game-changing “Scan & Go” through the Sheetz app during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sheetz joins other Pennsylvania-based companies on the list including Comcast NBCUniversal at number 16, PNC Financial Services at 71, UPMC at 161 and Dick’s Sporting Goods at 180.
