The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office said 26-year-old John Myrick’s body was recovered around 3:30 p.m. Friday.
Kentucky Fish and Wildlife told FOX 56 News before the body was identified that it was found about 60 yards from where the boat was capsized.
Kentucky Fish and Wildlife wardens previously told FOX 56 News that just after noon on Sunday, two men were fishing near the dam on West Laurel Lake when their boat was swept into the current and capsized.
One of the men was able to get to the surface and call 911, officials said. He was taken to the hospital and examined and is expected to be OK.
