According to Indiana State Police, it happened near State Road 19 and County Road 3600 South. Personnel from ISP, the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office and Tipton Police Department were dispatched to the area around 4 p.m. Thursday.
ISP’s preliminary investigation found a 2019 Lincoln was heading northbound on State Road 19 when it veered across the center line and hit a 2022 Chevy Silverado.
The driver of the Lincoln, 78-year-old Michael Landseade, and his passenger, 78-year-old Virginia Landseade, were pronounced dead at the scene. Both were from Tipton.
The driver of the truck, a 49-year-old Cicero man, was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators don’t know what caused Landseade to cross the center line. They said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected as factors in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
