NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Happy Mother’s Day! This weekend is a time to honor all of the moms for the hard work that they do. There are plenty of ways to celebrate mom, including a multi-course wine dinner, lovely live music, and a Mother’s Day feast. Here are Where Y’at’s weekend picks!
First, if mom loves fine wine, Briquette Restaurant in the Warehouse District hosts a very special dinner on Friday night, May 9. This three-hour, five-course meal, prepared by Executive Chef Peter Isaac, starts at 7 p.m., with each course paired with a special Duckhorn family wine.

Next, Friday night, May 9, at the Smoothie King Center, Master P celebrates his fourth annual birthday concert with special guests including 50 Cent, Lil Scrappy and many more. The show is also part of Master P’s mission to bring awareness to mental health.
If your mom is a cowgirl, bring her this Saturday night, May 10, to The Saenger Theatre for Americana singer-songwriter Sierra Ferrell during her “Shoot For the Moon” tour. Ferrell incorporates different style into her roots-country sound, and her album Trail of Flowers earned her four Grammy Awards.
Finally, if you’re looking for a great place to bring your mother to for a Mother’s Day meal on Sunday, May 11, head over to Neyow’s Creole Café in Mid-City. Neyow’s specializes in New Orleans cuisine, with Sunday specials such as their stuffed pork chop and Cornish hen. Neyow’s also serves wonderful martinis and cocktails.
