BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Several Louisiana natives and LSU athletes attended the 2025 Met Gala.
This year’s theme was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which celebrated Black style and personal heritage.
Louisiana’s own Tyler Perry and Jon Batiste brought Southern flair to the 2025 Met Gala in New York City. Perry, a filmmaker and actor, graced the red carpet in a crystal-embellished cape over a black tuxedo. Batiste, a seven-time Grammy-winning musician from New Orleans, performed live saxophone tunes as he walked the blue carpet.
New Orleans native Kelvin Harrison Jr. attended the Met wearing a double-breasted Prada suit over a colorful shirt and matching handkerchief. Harrison is known for his role in the 2024 film, Mufasa: The Lion King.
