BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A traffic stop on I-10 led to the arrest of a Louisiana man and a seizure of around 60 pounds of marijuana and cash.

Yusef Chaisson, Jr., 25, of Lafayette was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office initiated the traffic stop and found the large amount of marijuana and around $4,000 in the vehicle.

“This arrest demonstrates our continued commitment to keeping illegal narcotics off our streets and highways,” said Sheriff Stassi. “Our deputies remain vigilant in protecting the safety and well-being of our community.”

Chaisson was taken into custody and subsequently booked into the Iberville Parish Jail.

The Lafayette man’s bond was set at $10,000.
