The search has ended for the day on Monday. There is still no sign of the missing 10-year-old girl.
Crews could be seen in South Williamsport near the Hepburn Dam, where a 10-year-old was reported missing.
According to officials, the call went out around 11:00 a.m. Sunday for four people in the river. They were playing on the water’s edge when the current carried them away.
Police were the first to respond and were able to help talk two people out, the other two went over the dam.
One was self-rescued, but a 10-year-old girl is still missing.
On Monday, crews moved downstream toward Loyalsock Township and worked their way up.
It’s been a two-day all-out effort with nearly a dozen departments involved in the search for the missing girl.
That 10-year-old girl is a third grader in the South Williamsport Area School District.
The school’s superintendent says extra emotional support services and counseling will be available for students.
Officials have not confirmed if a search will continue on Tuesday.
