Arrest made in Rayne stabbing incident that led to officer being killed

RAYNE, La. (KLFY) — A man has been arrested in connection with an incident that ended with a Rayne Police officer being shot and killed Monday, authorities said.

Dustin Johnson, 38, of Rayne, is charged with attempted second degree murder and violation of protective orders.

Accoring to Rayne Police, Lt. Allen “Noochie” Credeur was accidentally killed by a fellow officer while executing a search warrant related to a violent crime. Officials have confirmed that Johnson was the suspect in that crime.

Johnson was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail at 7 p.m. Monday, according to the parish arrest report.

According to jail records, Johnson is being held on $1 million bond.
