Rayne police officer killed in domestic dispute standoff
RAYNE, La. (KLFY) — A Rayne Police officer was shot and killed Monday afternoon sources confirm.
The shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute on East Harrop Street in Rayne, officials said. A witness told KLFY News 10 one of their family members was stabbed at the home. During the standoff is when the officer was accidentally shot according to sources with the City of Rayne.
Louisiana State Police, Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office and Rayne Police are on the scene.
Neither the names of the officers involved nor other details have been released.
