One ejected in south Abilene crash Sunday afternoon

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A person was ejected from a truck during a two-vehicle crash in south Abilene on Sunday afternoon.

On May 4 at 2:20 p.m., crews responded to South 25th, near the intersection of Oak Street, for a two-vehicle collision. According to a bystander, one of three people in a pickup truck was thrown from the vehicle during the crash.

According to the police, a white truck and a black truck were traveling westbound on South 25th Street. The driver of the white truck tried to pass the black truck but ended up clipping it. As a result, the white truck rolled over multiple times before coming to a stop.

Our reporter at the scene says emergency crews used the jaws of life to free at least one occupant. Two people were taken to the hospital with injuries but are in stable condition. The driver of the white truck had minor injuries but was seen walking around. The occupants of the black truck were not injured.

The driver of the white truck received a citation for unsafe passing.
