WEBER COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — A 17-year-old was taken to the hospital after reportedly falling into the Weber River and being swept away on Saturday.
Officials said the boy was in the water for roughly 90 minutes before he was found. According to Lt. Sean Endsley with the Weber County Sheriff’s Office, officials responded to a possible drowning around 5:30 p.m. on May 3.
Endsley told ABC4.com that a group of boys was playing airsoft along the Weber River near 2200 West and 1200 South in Marriott-Slaterville when two boys went into the river. Of the two boys, one remained under the water.
The boy who didn’t initially resurface was found around 7 p.m. and taken to Primary Children’s Hospital. There was no update on his condition as of around 8:45 p.m.
