Officials said the boy was in the water for roughly 90 minutes before he was found. According to Lt. Sean Endsley, Weber County Sheriff’s Office, authorities responded to a possible drowning around 5:30 p.m. on May 3.
Endsley told ABC4.com that a group of boys was playing airsoft along the Weber River near 2200 West and 1200 South in Marriott-Slaterville when two boys went into the river. Of the two boys, one remained under the water.
The boy who didn’t initially resurface was found around 7 p.m. and taken to Primary Children’s Hospital. There was no update on his condition as of around 8:45 p.m.
