The organization works with getting victims of child sex abuse the resources they need to begin their healing journey.
In celebration of their efforts, PCA honored Eagles Offensive Tackle Jordan Mailata and his wife, Niki. Jordan became involved with the organization during his rookie year and Niki is a member of PCA’s Board of Directors.
“Jordan Mailata and Niki Mailata have been really, really good friends with PCA,” said Benita Williams, Executive Director of the Philadelphia Children’s Alliance. “We’re here to honor all the hard work and dedication they have done for PCA.”
In addition to an award for their contributions, PCA has renamed their Tree of Healing the Mailata Tree of Healing.
“You don’t do it to be recognized, you just do it to bring awareness,” said Jordan Mailata. “To be honored is truly something special, and we don’t take it for granted.”
“It’s humbling to be recognized,” said Niki Mailata. “We’re not the only ones who should be [recognized].”
