Warm and breezy today, heavy storms tonight

Quieter weather in Acadiana this Friday morning as we start off warm and humid with patchy fog. Very warm and breezy conditions return for the afternoon as highs near 86° under mostly cloudy skies. Scattered rain looks possible later today and during the evening hours followed by widespread heavy storms tonight into Saturday morning. There is a risk for flash flooding and a low risk for severe weather within Acadiana. That threat will ease through the morning hours of tomorrow.

Our weather should improve by Saturday afternoon as we turn cooler and drier. Very nice conditions are in the forecast on Sunday. Unfortunately, a stormy pattern could return next week and will bring a threat for heavy rains over several days.
