Chilly, cloudy, and breezy for Valentine’s Day in Acadiana. Wind chills are in the lower 30s this morning but we are dry. Highs today near 60° as scattered showers are possible during the afternoon. Rain chances increase to 40% before settling down during the evening hours.
Big swings in the weather are expected this weekend. Saturday will be very warm and windy followed by much colder and windy weather on Sunday. We are still tracking a threat for severe weather late Saturday as storms roll through the area after 6:00 pm. The setup is more supportive for damaging winds and tornadoes. Currently, much of Acadiana is under a Level 2 out 5 Risk for severe weather late Saturday. The higher risk should remain north of Acadiana but we are on the cusp of the greater threat.
