Man taken to hospital after drive-by shooting on near northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS – A man was taken to an area hospital following a drive-by shooting on the near northwest side.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched just after 11:30 p.m. to the 500 block of Ransom Street where they found a man had been shot.

During their investigation, police discovered the man was getting out of his car when someone in a passing vehicle fired shots at him.

The man was taken to a hospital. IMPD didn’t disclose the extent of his injuries.

The shooting remains under investigation.
